Office of Equity, Advocacy and Civil Rights
The Office of Equity, Advocacy and Civil Rights (EACR) assists existing DPSCD compliance officers, departments, and all staff to comply with state and federal civil rights laws and regulations. The office provides training and guidance to District staff and stakeholders. EACR represents the District’s legislative agenda and provides support to the Office of the Superintendent. The Department of Employee Relations is also housed in EACR and is responsible for investigation and resolution of employee misconduct and job performance claims, teacher tenure changes and civil rights claims from Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Michigan Department of Civil Rights.
