Detroit, MI — May 5th is Cinco de Mayo but for the students and staff at Clinton Elementary School it will also be Arbor Day. They will be joined by volunteers from the Greening of Detroit, the Arbor Day
Foundation and The Home Depot for a special greening project. Together they will pick up their shovels and start digging 40 holes..for 40 trees donated to the school by the Foundation. The goal is the beautification of the grounds.

Out of the thousands of schools that applied to the Foundation, Clinton is one of only 13 schools, nationwide, that will receive this living grant.

Everyone including some school staff and community volunteers, will gather at the school on Tuesday, May 5th at about 7:30 in the morning. All of the trees should be planted by noon. The school is located at 8145 Chalfonte. The principal is Janet Glenn and the school phone number is 313-873-5705.
