As Detroit Public Schools concludes the first week of its most comprehensive summer school program in the district’s history, parents continue to contact the schools and enroll and, they still have an opportunity to continue to enroll their children if they act quickly.

Summer School Superintendent Dr. James Ray noted that enrollment is still open and encouraged parents to get their young people in school right away. “Some parents may fear that since they already missed several days, they might as well not enroll; however, we want to get them in class learning. That, for all of us, is the goal.”

Parents may contact their local schools or district hotlines 313-873-6812 or 313-873-7480.
