For the second day in a row, two Detroit Public School League girls’ softball semifinal games were suspended Tuesday and are now scheduled for Wednesday (May 14) to be played from the point where they were halted.

In Division 1, Renaissance leading 10-1 will play Denby (at Renaissance) starting in the bottom of the 4th inning and, in Division 2, Cody leading 8-7 will play CMA (at East English) starting in the bottom of the 3rd inning.

Both suspended play-off games will start promptly at 2 p.m. at East English and 3 p.m. at Renaissance. If weather still does not permit the games to be completed, the winners advancing to Friday’s (May 16) championship games at University of Detroit Mercy will be the teams that led at the time of the last play stoppage.

Cass Tech, a 15-0 winner against East English Village, will play the Renaissance-Denby winner in the Division 1 title game Friday at 3 p.m. Central, a 19-0 winner against Southeastern, will play the Cody-CMA winner for the Division 2 title at 1 p.m. Admission is $5.
