J.E. Clark Preparatory Academy community and Student Council members hosted their 3rd Annual Clark Thanksgiving Community Dinner on Tuesday, November 25. Students and staff dedicated an afternoon to prepare and serve warm Thanksgiving meals to nearly 240 less fortunate families from the Clark Community, St. John Community Center, St. Anne Nursing Home and Capuchin Soup Kitchen. Clark reserved two buses to accommodate guests and a small program was held directly before dinner was served with the theme, “Why We are Thankful.”
The annual service is aligned with Clark’s Social Studies Curriculum and required Service Learning Project. This year’s attendees included the Clark Community, local Nursing Homes and St. John Community Center which houses over 50 homeless men. The Detroit Lions and Athletes for Charity even participated!
